So I’d set about however necessary to take over the United States. I’d subvert the churches first—I would begin with a campaign of whispers. With the wisdom of a serpent, I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve: “Do as you please.” “Do as you please.” To the young, I would whisper, “The Bible is a myth.” I would convince them that man created God instead of the other way around. I would confide that what is bad is good, and what is good is “square”. And the old, I would teach to pray. I would teach them to pray after me, ‘Our Father, which art in Washington…’

And then I’d get organized. I’d educate authors on how to lurid literature exciting, so that anything else would appear dull and uninteresting. I’d threaten TV with dirtier movies and vice versa. I’d pedal narcotics to whom I could. I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction. I’d tranquilize the rest with pills.

If I were the devil I’d soon have families that war with themselves, churches that war that themselves, and nations that war with themselves; until each in its turn was consumed. And with promises of higher ratings I’d have mesmerizing media fanning the flame. If I were the devil I would encourage schools to refine young intellects, and neglect to discipline emotions—just let those run wild, until before you knew it, you’d have to have drug sniffing dogs and metal detectors at every schoolhouse door.

Within a decade I’d have prisons overflowing, I’d have judges promoting pornography—soon I could evict God from the courthouse, and then the schoolhouse, and then from the houses of Congress. And in His own churches I would substitute psychology for religion, and deify science. I would lure priests and pastors into misusing boys and girls, and church money. If I were the devil I’d make the symbols of Easter an egg and the symbol of Christmas a bottle.

If I were the devil I’d take from those, and who have, and give to those wanted until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious. What do you bet I could get whole states to promote gambling as the way to get rich? I would question against extremes and hard work, and Patriotism, and moral conduct. I would convince the young that marriage is old-fashioned, that swinging more fun, that what you see on the TV is the way to be. And thus I could undress you in public, and I could lure you into bed with diseases for which there is no cure. In other words, if I were to devil I’d keep on doing on what he’s doing.

Paul Harvey, good day.”
Quill of Billhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05303476485738686449noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8336980666247297409.post-8789907760098757582012-02-28T10:20:00.002-08:002012-02-28T10:22:06.125-08:00A question for allI pose this question to all; Why does it take something big (I mean to literally sweep our feet out from under us) in order to listen to Him.

In Christ we are united, through Christ we are united.Quill of Billhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05303476485738686449noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8336980666247297409.post-78523203999444934952011-09-29T10:23:00.000-07:002011-09-29T10:28:32.214-07:00Recently I have been asked what our duty or responsibility is. Unfortunately this just compounds our struggle. If we do not remember that God, loves us. Then we will eventually lose our faith in Him...thoughts of doubt, seeds of doubt will creep in.

Paul addresses this in Romans 8:28-39, God let us know (through Paul) that we have sanctification through him, and that He loves us very much. "who shall separate us from the love of Christ" (v35), nothing height, nor depth nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

the next time you are struggling with anything in life, tribulation distress or persecution, peril, famine or sword remember that you are in, His Loving Arms.Quill of Billhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05303476485738686449noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8336980666247297409.post-58777815857026002792007-10-09T07:50:00.000-07:002007-10-09T08:14:43.479-07:00WeedsWhere do weeds come from? As gardeners we really don't know. They seem to just magically appear in the garden growing wildly choking out our fruit producing plants, seemingly from nowhere and nothing.

In life we also have weeds that grow. However, here we can actually see where they come from. They come from seeds sown when we go astray from the teaching of our Lord and Savior.

Satan is the great weed seed planter. He enjoys planting seeds of doubt, seeds of deceit, seeds of pride, seeds of lust.....

We need to be aware as we go through life that even though Satan may spread his seeds everywhere that these seeds are different...if they are hit with Light...they whither and die and do not become weeds in our lives.

We cannot place all the blame on Satan. Once the seeds are planted, we are the ones which allow the seed to germinate and become a weed in our life...just the same we can choose to pluck this weed as soon as it sprouts, and leave it on the Cross. Do not let Satan choke out your life in Christ...don't let Satan lead you astray away from the eternal life promised and gained.

How many weeds will you let grow...?Quill of Billhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05303476485738686449noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8336980666247297409.post-4147245332344538762007-09-28T12:15:00.000-07:002007-09-28T12:17:24.914-07:00don't know what happenedI recently lost my blog page.
